A Comprehensive Redesign of Our Patented EM Cell

Our Electromagnetic Cells are the foundational building block responsible for line conditioning. While previous upgrades to the PowerCell brought forth improvements, the advancement has not been as revolutionary as it is today because we’ve fundamentally rethought the construction of the EM cell versus continuing to refine it:

• A comprehensive redesign of the EM cell, inherited from our forthcoming flagship SRX PowerCell, more efficiently filters out contaminants to the signal, resulting in a lower noise floor and better dynamics.

• The overall surface area of the cell as gone up 100x from previous generations to deliver a significant increase in electromagnetic conditioning.

• Doubling its function as a supercapacitor, the amount of available energy has gone up 100x, enabling even the most power-hungry amplifiers to sound more dynamic with better leading-edge transients plugged into the PowerCell than plugging it straight to the wall.

The end result enables more information to pass through in both a smoother and more holographic and accurate sound field than previous generation PowerCells.

Re-engineered ULF and DC Biasing

ULF, in its most basic principle, is how we ‘reclock’ our music to the Schumann Resonance by passively addressing and filtering out ambient RF and extreme high frequency noise that would otherwise degrade sound. The PowerCell 14  utilizes the Galileo SX PowerCell’s power supply and ULF Field Generator and improves upon it in the following ways:

• We implement a reformulated Ultra Low-Frequency RF bias captured from learnings gleaned from our SRX PowerCell and Voodoo streamer/server development programs.

• The nature of how we bias ULF has dramatically changed.

• The way we integrate both ULF and DC into EM cells has also changed.

• The power supply that generates the DC bias to EM cells has been radically evolved.

• New 24k Gold UEF tuning circuits bring harmonic richness and enhanced musicality.

With these advancements, SR is now able to precisely control the phase points between the frequencies used for bias.  When selecting between the two biases on the PC14, they reflect SR’s most current understanding of ULF treatment and will deliver a more favorable, welcoming response to your music.

Three frequency bias, one perfect sound.  

Blue (Default): This option offers a laid-back midrange with a linear transition of notes from low frequencies to midrange to highs, creating a large and enveloping sound stage.

Green: The midrange is slightly more forward compared to the Blue option, with a bit more bass emphasis.

Red: Convincingly portray large-scale performances and electronic music.

Grounding, Elevated.

The internal power supply and ULF Generator included in the PowerCell 14 are further enhanced with a UEF Ground Plane first developed for the Galileo SX PowerCell to lower the noise floor and increase soundstaging. And to take this performance to a higher level still there is the option to ground the PowerCell 14 to one of our Active Ground Blocks which improves low-frequency weight and attack as it lowers the noise floor further still without sacrificing one of the duplexes, so you have the full 14 outlets to filter all components in your system without loss of current.

Form Elevates Function

The PowerCell 14 chassis is mechanically and electromagnetically voiced. Machined from aircraft-grade aluminum, carbon fiber and plexiglass, its design strategically dampens and directs mechanical resonance from the ambient environment, the energy created by your speakers and how that feeds back into the circuit, and the vibrations generated by the transformers in the unit. The material makeup, physical size, and windows into the unit optimize the efficiency and directivity of the electromagnetic fields generated by the EM cells to bring sound as close to life as possible.

What’s inside?

We transferred over 80% of the technology and improvements first developed for our world-beating Galileo SX PowerCell line conditioner directly into the new PowerCell SX. We then added Orange Capacitors to its power supply and ULF field generator and our new Orange Duplexes to improve PowerCell SX performance. All Active EM Cells are larger and more densely packed with 25% more surface area than the PowerCell 12’s rolled EM Cells for an increase in EM Cell efficiency and enhanced energy storage for power delivery and percieved dynamic range.

At the heart of the PowerCell SX is the Galileo SX’s power supply for biasing all six of its internal Active EM Cells, and we incorporated the Galileo SX’s Ground Plane for a dramatic drop in your system’s noise floor. Lessons learned from the Galileo SX PowerCell development program include the same harmonic of the Earth’s Schumann resonance first determined in double-blind testing to deliver greater detail and holographic realism over the PC 12 SE’s original bias frequency. Additionally, the new power supply and field generator first developed for Galileo SX biases all six Active EM Cells. In contrast, the PowerCell 12 SE only biases its single flat Active EM Cell with the Earth’s Schumann Resonance for a fundamental transformation over PowerCell 12 SE.

Ground filtration is enhanced through the use of a new wiring topology developed for Galileo SX PowerCell to lower a system’s noise floor. Optionally, the PowerCell SX can be connected to our Active Ground Block through a new dedicated ground connection that lowers its noise floor further still and without sacrificing any of its 12 AC outlets. A very useful feature for systems that require all twelve AC outlets.

PowerCell SX has the wow factor covered with a front amp meter that displays the amperage delivered to your system as it allows you to see the beautiful hand-built circuit inside and an additional large view window on the top will enable you to enjoy its American hand made craftsmanship. You can even change the color and intensity of the light that illuminates both the front amp meter and a top view window. Select between Galileo White, Dante Red, Synergistic Research Blue, and McIntosh Blue to match its lighting to other components in your system. And if you prefer no light at all you can choose to be boring, it’s all up to you.

Galileo SX PCB and 24k Gold Tuning Modules

PowerCell SX takes its power supply, and ULF Field Generator directly from the Galileo SX PowerCell for an improvement in performance at its heart. It also utilizes Galileo SX’s 24k Gold UEF tuning circuits for harmonic richness and enhanced musicality.

25% Larger Folded EM Cells now biased with the Earth’s Schuman Resonance

The five-carbon fiber tubes you see in the PowerCell SX are folded Active Electromagnetic Cells, and these cells are 25% denser than the PowerCell 12 SE’s folded EM Cells; this means greater filtration for a lower noise floor and enhanced dynamics. We also bias all 5 folded EM Cells plus the flat EM Cell visible as a black rectangle with two silver stripes with a harmonic of the Earth’s Schuman Resonance to the PowerCell 12 SE that only biases the single flat EM Cell. 25% more filtration combined with biasing all six EM Cells improves your system’s ability to soundstage over the already excellent soundstaging of the PowerCell 12 SE.
